ENSoloist

Ilona Kocsis has received soloist degrees with distinction from Franz Liszt Music Academy, Debrecen, Hungary, under the supervision of Istvan Matuz and from Lucerne School of Music, Switzerland, under the supervision of Anna-Katharina Graf. She has performed as soloist with various orchestras, including Lucern Symphonic Orchestra, Switzerland, Aargau Symphonic Orchestra, Switzerland, and Symphonic Orchestra Gödöllö, Hungary.

She has received the Edwin Fischer Price for best soloist of the year for a Jacques Ibert: Concerto for flute and symphonic orchestra Performed with the Lucern Symphonic Orchestra in 2002.

ENOrchestra Flutist

Ilona Kocsis has worked as flutist in various symphonic orchestras. She has been touring Europe with the Symphonic Orchestra of Hungary as first flutist and played the piccolo and second flute in various Hungarian and Slovenian orchestras. In Switzerland she was appointed substitute flutist for the Symphonic Orchestra Basel, the Symphonic Orchestra Zurich, and the Sinfonietta Zug. In Scotland, she has played with Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

ENChamber Music

Ilona Kocsis has performed with various chamber music formations in the past. More recent formations include the Trio Terra in Switzerland, and various events in Austria and Germany.

She has now teamed up with guitar player John Hallam and pianist Gusztáv Fenyö to perform in Scotland. She has recorded a CD with John Hallam containing pieces from Astor Piazzolla, Béla Bartók and Luis Bonfa that is available on request.

ENEvents

Ilona Kocsis plays regularly at events such as receptions, exhibitions, weddings, and funerals. Depending on the event, she usually plays with pianists, organists, or alone.
