Welcome to the home of the Ilona Kocsis & John Hallam Flute & Guitar Duo!

We are a professional flute & guitar duo based in Glasgow, Scotland. We both have extensive experience playing solo and with various groups and orchestras. With our large repertoire we will tailor the music program to suit your special event - weddings, corporate events, private functions or special occasions. Biography

Born 1970 in Hungary, Ilona Kocsis completed her initial music education in Györ and Debrecen. She went to Switzerland in 1996 where she received a concert degree with distinction from the Conservatory Schaffhausen and a soloist degree with distinction from the Lucerne School of Music. Ilona Kocsis has played in various orchestras including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, chamber music ensembles, and solo concerts.

John Hallam was born in 1973 in Sheffield and was initially taught the guitar by his father. He went on to study at the RSAMD at the age of 17. As a student he became a member of Yehudi Menuhin’s Live Music Now scheme which took him performing all over the UK. He currently resides in Glasgow where he combines both a busy teaching and playing careers.

The two performers’ musical ideas and highly expressive playing styles capture the spirit and mood of a wide repertoire and bring the music to life.
