Ilona Kocsis - Flautist
Born 1970 in Csorna, Hungary, Ilona Kocsis completed her initial
music education in Györ and Debrecen, including teaching, chamber
music, and soloist degrees with distinction. She went to Switzerland
in 1996 where she received a concert degree with distinction from
the Conservatory Schaffhausen and a soloist degree with distinction
from the Lucerne School of Music under the supervision of Anna-Katharina
Graf. Ilona Kocsis has played in various orchestras, chamber music
ensembles, and solo concerts. Her exceptionally expressive playing
has earned her an excellent reputation and enthusiastic audiences.
In 2005, Ilona Kocsis moved to Glasgow, Scotland, where she continued
playing and teaching the
flute. She has teamed up with guitarist John Hallam to play at weddings
and special functions. Since 2009, she is back in Switzerland.
